capabilities
Drilling
techniques including reverse circulation, conventional and wireline
coring, double or triple tube coring and down-the-hole hammer, using
various flushing medium (air, water, mud, mist, etc)
Soft ground boring at diameters up to 400mm to depths in the order of 60m
Sampling and in situ testing rock and soil in accordance with BS5930 and BS1377
Ability to access a wide range of site conditions (confined spaces, remote locations, restricted access, low
head room, helicopter lifts, etc.)
Investigation of mineral workings including inclined (angled) boreholes
with direction measured by electronic means to explore and define
steeply dipping strata
Borehole installations including piezometers, gas and water monitoring standpipes, inclinometers and extensometers
Field
testing including permeability (variable and constant head, packer,
pumping), infiltration, percolation, vane shear strength, CBR, plate
load, redox potential and resistivity.
Scoping
ground investigations to address the geotechnical, mineral and environmental issues while taking
into account the nature of the development proposals
Full
interpretation of ground conditions from desk top study through to
comprehensive interpretative reports on investigations including
foundations,
buried structures, roads, sewers, tunnels, earthworks, ground-water
control, mineral stability, stratigraphical correlation
Preparation
of risk assessments and reports to satisfy regulatory authorities (including integration of
data allowing ground-water profiling and production of 3D conceptual
site models highlighting potential sources, pathways and receptors).
Design, management and supervision of appropriate remediation schemes
On
site monitoring, sampling and testing of ground water and gas for a
wide range of parameters including pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen,
electrolytic conductivity, redox potential, TPH, PAH and heavy metals
